Gym Booking changes from 10th June

We have listened to your feedback and have decided to remove our booking system for Open Gym.

Over the previous 12 months with all Coronavirus restrictions in place we have adapted and addressed all changes and requirements as and when they have been presented to us.

Whilst the booking system has been helpful in determining numbers it has only worked effectively when members book in advance of their required timeslot. Often meaning if people wish to book last minute that even if the gym has availability they have not been able to book as the start of that block of time has passed.

We don’t want any of our members thinking they can’t come when they wish, so we will be removing our booking system as of Thursday 10th June.

We will monitor the numbers in the gym over the following weeks at certain times and provide useful information to you all via our website as to when we are most busy and when is quieter for you to make an informed decision about when you’d like to attend.

You will still be required to use the NHS Track & Trace system and will be required to sign in on arrival as per government requirements for indoor facilities.

As always we thank all of our members as we continue to work together to keep MP a happy, safe and welcoming environment for us all to share.

Reopening 12th April 2021

There is no denying that 2020 didn’t go quite to plan and 2021 started a little bit wobbly!

With the very brief reopening post lockdown 2.0 in December, the nation was promptly hit by lockdown 3.0 meaning the 3rd closure of MP and one that was set to be another long one.

The light at the end of that tunnel is now looking a little brighter and provided Boris doesn't change direction last minute we are really excited to be reopening once again on Monday 12th April.

The team at Macclesfield Performance have, as always made the best of the less than ideal circumstances and not only have they worked hard to keep their clients healthy and active remotely. They have also been busy making some really exciting plans for MP’s future and the future of our members too.

So, what can you expect to see when you return to Macclesfield Performance in April?

Screenshot+2021-03-27+at+15.28.57.jpg

Firstly, the gym has undergone a facelift. The entrance hall has been updated and a new coffee and consultation area has been created downstairs. We are now able to offer our visitors self-service Lavazza Lusso coffee, hot chocolate and tea whenever they wish.

We have also used this lockdown to improve our cloakroom, complete with new hand wash area, new flooring and lockers for safe storage of your belongings. The shower will initially be out of action until restrictions allow for its use, however that too is gleaming!

24kg-Tribar-Kettlebell-OV-scaled.jpg

We have reorganised the gym, adding more equipment for you to enjoy, including additional squat racks, barbells, strong person equipment, tribars, bumpers and dumbbells.

81AaWoPKjyL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

As requested we have also stocked up on protein shakes, bars, BCAAs and energy drinks for you to buy if you wish, which will be located at our new reception area.

All that is left now is for us to open the doors and welcome you back in!

How will Macclesfield Performance run post lockdown 3.0?

Essentially the way in which you can use MP hasn’t changed much at all.

We will continue to run the booking system for members, requesting that you book time slots so we can keep numbers at a safe level to allow for social distancing. These time slots will be no less than 2 hours and you can stay as long as you wish beyond that so long as you are booked.

You do not need to book a “Zone” at Macclesfield Performance any more.

Social distancing is second nature to us all now, members and staff will be expected to continue to follow regulations and will also be expected to keep all equipment clean and very importantly, dry.

Hand sanitiser is provided at the gym and masks will continue to be required when you are not physically exercising or you are moving around the gym.

Will there be classes?

Classes and indoor group training will unfortunately not be an option just yet. However, that does not mean that you can’t meet our coaches for group training outdoors.

A number of our sessions will be lead outside and more information on that is coming to you very soon.

Should you know about anything new that Macclesfield Performance has to offer?

Yes, we are delighted to be launching our club memberships post lockdown 3.0.

327Cv8bA.jpg

You can gain access to coaches, programming and in-house competitions and activities, on a new and exciting membership package that we have created.

For those that have wanted to learn more about weightlifting, strong person, getting healthier, fitter, stronger, powerlifting, or even how to improve your running performance using the gym, you can now join our club membership and have programming and coaching on any of the above.

Club memberships combine your monthly gym membership with that of your coaches training package and offers everyone access to quality information and support when in MP should they want or need it.

All club memberships are just £65.00 per month which is split between the gym and the coach of the club you have chosen. We will be releasing more information on and how to join in a separate blog later this week.

Do you have to be a gym member or club member to attend Macclesfield Performance?

Our gym membership is very competitively priced at just £27.00 per month with no joining fees or cancelation notice periods. Students can gain access to MP on our student membership package for just £20.00 per month by contacting us directly.

However, if you are just passing through Macclesfield or like to train as a non-member you can book your times via our joining system and pay at checkout for a one off visit.

We can not wait to see you all when we reopen on the 12th, if you have any questions in the meantime please use our contact us page and we would be happy to help.

Macclesfield Performance On Demand

As we are still in lockdown it is often difficult to imagine a time when we will be reopening. The fact is we will be and when we do - we are ready for you!

Over the last few weeks we have been working hard to put together our improved timetable for when we reopen. Things can so often change in these uncertain times but as always Macclesfield Performance intends to continue to adapt and overcome any obstacles that we face so that we can provide you with the best facilities, the most professional services and the most enjoyable experiences possible when you visit our gym.

With the above in mind we are delighted to show you our new updated website. Take a look around and you will find we now have 3 membership packages and you can read all about what what they each offer.

Not only is Macclesfield Performance an up to date strength and conditioning gym in our beloved hometown, we offer group training, courses and classes and even skill based clubs for people to get involved with.

In addition to that, all members now gain free access to our members hub which will continue as an ongoing feature even when we are out of lockdown.

In the hub you will find our “On Demand” section providing you with a variety of sessions to follow either at home or in the gym via videos. Providing you with training ideas and coaching at times to suit you.

Our members hub also offers our members access to free downloadable training guides and nutrition plans created for you by none other than our own coaching team here at MP.

All sections of the hub will be regularly updated with challenges and interesting video articles for you to watch for motivation and information all year round.

So what does all this mean for you in the immediate future?

All of our current members will be emailed their password for the members hub and over the next few weeks you will be updated with information as to what to expect when we reopen.

For those that are interested in learning more about how to join Macclesfield Performance either now or when we reopen or how to sign up to courses both online or when we reopen please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Changes to Booking at MP

For those that have been members of Macclesfield Performance during 2020 you will know that we have utilized a “zone booking” system to help us keep to social distancing at MP.

Whilst this has worked we have noticed an increase in the number of occasions where areas training zones in the gym have been left unused for a few hours at a time as a result of either zones being booked by “no-shows” or equipment being finished with sooner than the allocated slot has expired.

This has been sad to see as we know that time in the gym is precious to everyone so when people cannot book because zones are booked out” but no one is using them it is very frustrating.

128929492_4948124415212695_8563744647591296253_o.jpg

Our team have put our heads together and have decided that from Monday 28th December members and visitors will no longer need to book “zones” in the gym.

Alongside social distancing, equipment sanitising and mask wearing (when you are not actually exercising in the gym) to train at Macclesfield Performance you will simply need to book your “time slot” rather than your “zone”.

We have broken the time of day into blocks and limited the numbers allowed in during each block to ensure we keep numbers to a safe level at any one time. You will now be able to see these time blocks on our booking system, members your booking codes are the same for this.

This new way of booking means that you can revert back to the way Macclesfield Performance was used pre-coronavirus but with precautions in place to keep things under control.

***

VERY IMPORTANT: Book in advance as the booking system runs from the start time for each block. Why…? See Below…

Eg: You have woken up and want to train at 08.00, it is currently 07.30 on Monday.

The block you need is the 06.15-09.00 block.

You look at the booking system and it is showing no availability.
This may not be because the gym is full, but rather because the the “06.15-09.00” block started at 06.15 meaning it no longer shows on the booking system.

All you will likely see in this instance is “09.00-12.00” availability as this is when the next block starts. Booking in advance of the block you want means you are not missing out unnecessarily.

***

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support of, pride in and care for your gym and each other!

From all the team at MP x

The above changes will be in effect from Monday 28th December. Training Zone Booking will continue until then.

Thank you :)

Now offering student discount!

We’ve all been there, studying, having fun, working hard and for very little money. Wanting to stay in shape, stay up to date with trends and on point with training but with very little cash flow to back it all up.

At Macclesfield Performance we have seen a rise in younger people showing interest in health, fitness, sport and wellbeing and we by no means want to out-price them making access to a top quality training facility in Macclesfield impossible for those at Sixth Form, College or Uni.

That is why we have decided to introduce student discount for our membership at Macclesfield Performance.

We know, pretty sweet deal right!

All you need to do is request the discount here and we will inform you of the 3 quick and easy steps on how to get set up!
